Fasting is a Biblical principle of removing something we want, for something we want more.
Throughout Scripture you see the people of God commit to periods of prayer and fasting as they pursue God. For 14 days, those who are able are going to fast from food in one of two ways:
Selective Fast
A selective fast involves intentional choices in your dietary habits. This may include abstaining from various elements such as alcohol, sweets, or caffeine for 14 days. A widely practiced form of selective fasting is the Daniel Fast, a 14-day commitment involving the exclusion of meats, sweets, and bread from your diet.
Partial Fast
A partial Fast is choosing to fast from specific or all foods during a set period each day. This commonly includes the morning and afternoon or could be from sun up to sun down.
Pray about the type of fast God wants you to do then fast as the Holy Spirit leads. If you are new to fasting or have any ongoing medical issues, please consider consulting a physician before beginning your fast.
What we watch, listen to, and read can have a powerful impact on our lives. As part of building our hunger for God, we want to remove any type of entertainment that doesn’t honor God.
For 14 days, replace all forms of entertainment with things that are clean and God-honoring. To help, we have created worship playlists as well as movie and television recommendations.
