Keystone Kids staff lead the way in preparing and executing worship experiences for elementary aged (grades 1-6) children during Sunday worship services and special events.
As an elementary Kids Pastor, this includes leading children and parents by caring for their spiritual needs. This role also involves recruiting, leading and caring for teams of Servant Leaders (volunteers), and equipping them to serve with excellence.
Pastoral staff at Keystone Church should have a passion to use their skills to accomplish our mission of leading everyone to experience a passionate life in Christ.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain Keystone Kids (elementary area) ministry vision, while aligning with the overall vision of Keystone Church and staying relationally unified with leaders and staff.
Demonstrate a passion for leading Keystone Kids by:
- Being visibly present in Keystone Kids, speaking to volunteers, parents, and kids.
- Executing all Keystone Kids ministry vision and values.
- Regularly evaluating existing programs, as well as brainstorming new strategies and experiences that positively accomplish our goal of ministering to children.
Prioritize recruiting and retaining volunteers by:
- Setting goals for recruiting and equipping new volunteers.
- Ensuring volunteer leadership structure is in place, with the proper care and communication that equips them for their roles.
- Developing ongoing and event-specific serving opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate rosters of serving teams in Planning Center.
Care for volunteers, parents, and kids by:
- Following up on any opportunity to show extra care for kids and families (ie: school, home, and hospital visits).
- Developing strategies to steward First Time Guest families well, in order to help guests (kids and parents primarily) feel welcome and connected to Keystone beyond their initial visit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Uphold Biblical priorities in your own growing relationship with Jesus, healthy relationships with your spouse and children (if applicable), and a healthy purpose in life and ministry.
- A willingness to contribute to church-wide needs outside of Keystone Kids (occasionally this will mean performing duties and tasks outside of your normal job responsibilities).
- Must be collaborative, creative, innovative. Must show initiative, be able to meet deadlines, have strong communication verbal and written skills, and have a keen eye for detail.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing or competing priorities. Must be able to manage multiple demands. Must be open minded, driven to succeed, have a “can-do” attitude, and must continually seek new ways to grow personally and professionally.
- Financially support the vision of Keystone Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income.
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
