Fasting is a Biblical principle of removing something we want, for something we want more.
Throughout Scripture you see the people of God commit to periods of prayer and fasting as they pursue God. For the next 21 days, those who are able are going to fast from food in one of two ways:
Selective Fast
A selective fast involves intentional choices in your dietary habits. This may include abstaining from various elements such as alcohol, sweets, or caffeine for 21 days. A widely practiced form of selective fasting is the Daniel Fast, a 21-day commitment involving the exclusion of meats, sweets, and bread from your diet.
Partial Fast
A partial Fast is choosing to fast from specific or all foods during a set period each day. This commonly includes the morning and afternoon or could be from sun up to sun down.
Pray about the type of fast God wants you to do then fast as the Holy Spirit leads. If you are new to fasting or have any ongoing medical issues, please consider consulting a physician before beginning your fast.
What we watch, listen to, and read can have a powerful impact on our lives. As part of building our hunger for God, we want to remove any type of entertainment that doesn’t honor God.
For the next 21 days, replace all forms of entertainment with things that are clean and God-honoring. To help, we have created worship playlists as well as movie and television recommendations.

Part of this 21 day journey is building habits that could positively impact us for a lifetime. One of those habits is reading the Bible. For the next 21 days we invite you to read the Book of John with us. Each day we will read one chapter that will help us learn from the life of Jesus and grow in our relationship with God.
If you are new to reading the Bible, we encourage you to try a simple method called SOAP to get the most out of your time reading the Bible. Here is what SOAP stand for:
Scripture – As you read the chapter of the day, look for any verses that stand out to you then slow down to write that verse down.
Observation – Think about the verse you wrote down. What stood out to you? Is there a command to follow? Is there a principle you should learn?
Application – How could you apply this verse to your life? What change could you make in the way you think or in the way you act?
Prayer – Ask God to help you apply what you are learning and continue to guide you to understand His will.
You won’t want to miss a week of this powerful series. We will post previous weeks messages each week for reference and review.
