Throughout history, people have worshiped many different images in their search for God. Sacrifices were made and people bowed down to idols made of wood and stone. That sounds crazy, right? But what if I told you, we still do the same thing today? Could there something that rivals God’s position in our life? Are we kneeling before created things like money, food, pleasure, or sex, rather than bowing before the Creator, in the hopes that those things will satisfy a deep longing in our hearts?
This series, American Gods, will help us identify the false gods in our lives, empower us to stop kneeling before the wrong altar, and start worshipping the God who alone can satisfy our deepest longings and desires.
